ViewQwest has announced that it will be offering a 10Gbps broadband service for residential and corporate users.

The service is being touted by the company as “Malaysia’s first 10Gbps Internet”.

According to a press release, the 10Gbps broadband service with WiFi 7 is available as a custom solution with prices starting from RM1,800 monthly for residential users, while pricing varies for corporate users based on network requirements.

Interested customers need to submit a query on the company’s website for more details on the plan.

The company said that customers will be contacted to schedule a technical assessment.

An FAQ on the website stated that ViewQwest currently only covers areas in Klang Valley and Johor Bahru.

Other plans offered by the company include 300Mbps home fibre broadband for RM128 monthly and 1Gbps for RM238 monthly. The plans come with 24-month and 36-month contracts respectively.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the new 10Gbps service will have a “game-changing” impact on digital services in Malaysia during a showcase in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (July 17).

“Ultra-speed Internet will increase productivity, efficiency, and innovation across all industries, such as ecommerce, agriculture, education, healthcare, finance and even government services.

“Services and production will be 10x faster, if not more,” he said, adding that ultra-speed connectivity is crucial to empower Malaysians to be digitally-savvy.
